Superheroes Editorial Review
Batgirl Vol. 1: Batgirl of Burnside is a new and fresh take on the character of Batgirl. The story follows Barbara Gordon as she tries to restart her life and become Batgirl again after a difficult recovery from paralysis. The comic explores her life in the borough of Burnside and her journey to become a local social media icon. While some may find the tone and setting to be too focused on millennial culture, overall, it offers a solid story with well-developed characters. The art style may take some getting used to, but it reflects the change in tone and direction of the series. Despite a few minor missteps, Batgirl Vol. 1: Batgirl of Burnside is an enjoyable read that fans of Batgirl will appreciate.
