Customer Questions & Answers
-
Question:
What are the primary features of the Yasutomo Niji Artist Watercolors Set?
Answer: The Yasutomo Niji Artist Watercolors Set includes 12 vibrant colors that are ideal for both beginners and professional artists. Each watercolor comes in a semi-moist form, allowing for easy mixing and a smooth application on paper. The colors are highly pigmented, ensuring brilliant and lasting results in your artwork. These watercolors can be used on various surfaces, making them versatile for different artistic projects, such as painting, crafting, or illustration. -
Question:
Are the Yasutomo Niji watercolors suitable for all types of paper?
Answer: Yes, Yasutomo Niji watercolors can be used on a variety of papers, including watercolor paper, mixed media paper, and even canvas with proper preparation. The watercolors blend well and activate easily with water, making them a great choice for different techniques like washes or detailed brushwork. For best results, using high-quality watercolor paper can enhance the vibrancy and the texture of your artwork. -
Question:
Can children use the Yasutomo Niji Artist Watercolors Set?
Answer: Absolutely! The Yasutomo Niji Artist Watercolors Set is safe for children and beginners due to its non-toxic formulation. This makes it a suitable choice for art classes or home projects where kids can explore their creativity. Parents can encourage their children to experiment with colors and techniques in a safe manner, fostering artistic expression from an early age. -
Question:
How do I activate the Yasutomo Niji watercolors before use?
Answer: To activate the Yasutomo Niji watercolors, simply wet your brush and lightly touch the color with the bristles. The semi-moist cake will dissolve into a vibrant watercolor paste that is ready for application. You can adjust the intensity by adding more water as needed. This activation method makes it easy to control color depth and transparency, allowing for both bold strokes and delicate washes. -
Question:
Are these watercolors lightfast and durable for long-term artwork?
Answer: While the Yasutomo Niji watercolors offer vibrant colors, they are not fully lightfast for artworks intended to last a lifetime. They are best suited for practice, studies, or projects where longevity is not a primary concern. If you're creating pieces for display, you may want to consider framing them behind glass or using a UV protective spray to help maintain their vibrancy over time. -
Question:
What techniques can I use with the Yasutomo Niji watercolors?
Answer: You can explore various techniques with the Yasutomo Niji watercolors, including wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, glazing, and lifting. These versatile colors blend beautifully, allowing for gradients and soft transitions in your work. Whether you're creating landscapes, abstract art, or detailed illustrations, the watercolors can accommodate different styles, making them a popular choice among artists. -
Question:
How do I store the Yasutomo Niji Artist Watercolors for longevity?
Answer: To ensure the longevity of your Yasutomo Niji watercolors, store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Keep the watercolors covered to prevent them from drying out and maintain their semi-moist consistency. Additionally, organizing them in a palette or a protective case can help keep them safe from damage, allowing you to enjoy using them for various projects over time. -
Question:
Can I mix the Yasutomo Niji watercolors with other brands?
Answer: Yes, you can mix Yasutomo Niji watercolors with other watercolor brands. However, be cautious as compatibility may vary depending on the formulation of the other paints. Mixing can lead to unique hues and textures, allowing for greater creativity in your artwork. Just be sure to test small amounts before applying on larger sections to see how they blend together. -
Question:
What is the best brush type to use with Yasutomo Niji watercolors?
Answer: Synthetic brushes are generally recommended for use with Yasutomo Niji watercolors, especially those with a soft bristle for optimal water retention. Look for round, flat, and angled brushes for versatility in applying different techniques. A mop brush can also be effective for washes and large areas. The right brush will enhance your painting experience and help you achieve the desired effects in your artwork. -
