The Wild Child is a beautifully written historical romance novel by Mary Jo Putney. The book tells the story of Lady Muriel, an heiress who lost her mind as a child, and Dominic, the twin brother of an earl who was supposed to marry Muriel. Dominic is sent to get to know Muriel, but ends up falling in love with her instead. The story is intricately woven and has excellent character development. Putney's writing is strong and engaging throughout the novel.
