Product Details
- A modern Frankenstein thriller where science, ambition, and murder collide. What begins as a simple arrest soon propels Detective Rick Dietz into a bizarre case involving recombinant DNA, personality alteration, and murder. Dietz is introduced by his girlfriend, attorney Beth Hamilton, to Professor Ken Gormund—a brilliant geneticist whose ambition places him squarely at odds with Dietz both professionally and personally.Gormund’s cutting‑edge research at his Cincinnati facility has already transformed ordinary animals into flawless creations. But his greatest experiment is far more dangerous: he kidnaps a young thief, Nat Jiminson, and rewrites his DNA using himself as the template. What emerges is a modern Frankenstein—part genius, part street predator—until the engineered virus mutates and Jiminson’s violent episodes spiral out of control. When Gormund decides to eliminate his creation, Jiminson escapes, taking Beth hostage and leaving a trail of destruction behind. Dietz tracks him to the research facility, where he discovers a murdered assistant and a deadly threat engineered by Jiminson. Now Dietz and Gormund must join forces to save Beth—but can they outthink a man who carries Gormund’s intellect, a thief’s instincts, and nothing left to lose?
